Leesa is working on  Charming Companions, a compilation of photos and prose about our special bonds with our dogs. On her 37th birthday, Leesa suffered the tragedy of a brain hemorrhage caused by a rare, vascular disorder known as an AVM/CA that left her unable to talk, read or write.  But the need to express is a powerful force. With strong faith, a grateful attitude, holding onto her hope, therapy, and years of relentless research and testing, Leesa overcame her physical limitations.  Even though she still deals with limitations from allergies and chemical sensitivities, she filled the promise of a blank page with the beauty her soul never stops observing in the world around her.  "The poems in this collection are a compilation of my life experiences," Wheeler writes. "During my life, I've found my most memorable moments have been blessings discovered from facing challenges." Her words transform tragedy into powerful lessons from which to grow.
